Super Bowl Party:
A big Thank You to The Empty Keg (Kevin & Misty Knaus) for the great job they did cooking at the Super Bowl Party, and everyone that helped out at this yearís event.

E-Mail addresses:
We have lost our bulk mail permit and will now have to send newsletters via first class U.S. Mail.  In order to save some money and be environmentally friendly we will start to send out most of our newsletters via e-mail.  It is important that we have your e-mail address so you will receive your newsletter.  If we donít have your e-mail address please forward it to:  lesl@edinboro.com   We never give out e-mails to other organizations so your information is safe with us.  Newsletters will also be available on our web page www.EdinboroSportsmen.org , at the club, and at local businesses.  Save a tree, e-mail!

  Skeet Shooting:                 Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
The Championship team for this years Troy Carter Memorial Winter Team Skeet League was team #8:  Jeff Powell, Rich Weaver, Eric Malina, Frank Malina, and Dave Lacey.  High gun was Jeff Powell.  Most Improved shooter was Mark Terrell.  Nice Shooting guys!   We will be starting a doubles team skeet league March 24 and will run until April 28.  The league will be limited to six - five person teams.   For information stop by the club any Tuesday night.

LESL Raffle Tickets:
Enclosed are 6 raffle tickets for a Weatherby Vanguard 30-06 rifle (walnut / stainless).  Please try to sell or purchase them. The money raised will help offset our youth trap team expenses.  Tickets and money may be sent to or dropped off at the club, Edinboro Outdoors, Dobber Auto, or Hobbs Lumber.  Drawing will be @ the Hobbs Trap Shoot ( 8/13/09 ).

LESL Junior Trap Team:

The club has received a grant from The Friends of the NRA to continue our Junior Trap Teams.  We can accommodate up to 25 students from 6th to 12th grade. Junior shooters that have shot league in the past will have first priority, followed by students of the 4-H shotgun course.  Any remaining spots can be filled by any shooter that has passed a PA Hunter / Trapper Ed. Course.   The club will pay for birds and shells for our 12 week inter-club league (starting in April) and the 5 top shooters from each week will shoot as a team at our home Erie-Crawford League Trap shoots free of charge.  We will be taking several teams to the PA SCTP State Championship (July 3-4) and if we qualify, on to the Grand (July 24-25), LESL will pick up the tab for shooting expenses.  A mandatory meeting for interested students and their parents will be held at the club on Wed. March, 25 at 7:00 p.m.   Team members MUST be current members of the ATA.  Cost for a junior membership to the ATA is $12.00 and membership applications will be available at the meeting.  Current ATA members must produce their blue ATA card and a 2009 average card or they will be charged for a 2009 ATA membership. The SCTP has also instituted a $15.00 registration fee that will also be collected at the meeting.

Trap Shooting:             Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
We will be starting to shoot trap the first Wednesday in April (4/1).  Cost for targets is $3.00 per round of 25.  The Annual Empty Keg inter-club 25 bird Trap league will start April 22 and run until July 29.  More information will be available at the club.

Annual Memberships Dues are Due:
Check the label on your envelope.  If the date in the top right corner is 2008 or less, your dues are due.  Use the enclosed form for renewing your membership. PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY and completely fill out all information especially your e-mail address.

Membership Pins:
LESL will start distributing membership pins instead of membership cards. The pins can be displayed on your favorite shooting hat or vest.  The pins will be available at the club any Tuesday or Wednesday  night or call to make arrangements for pick - up (882-9178)

Erie County Friends of the NRA Banquet:            Tuesday April 7, 2009
Tuesday, April 7th at the Ambassador Conference Center ( Erie ) is the date for this years Friends of the NRA Banquet.  Please try to attend this worthy fundraiser.  The Friends of the NRA have given tens of thousands of dollars to LESL over the last ten years for range improvements and youth shooting.  Now it is our turn to give back.  All of the money raised at this banquet stays in this area for Friends of the NRA Grants.

Night at the Races:                          Saturday, April 4, 2009
The 29th Annual Night at the Races and Casino Night will be held at the Edinboro Fire Hall, Saturday, April 4 starting at 7:00 p.m.   Wager on filmed horse races, casino games, raffles and more.  Free pizza, snacks and beverages.

The Curly Halmi Scholarship Memorial Game Dinner:      Mar 28, 2009
